This summer, the mobile bicycle cinema and film lab "Ciné Vélo Cité" will start in Neuperlach with films about the district and its topics directly on location.
In film workshops with youths and young adults from Neuperlach as well as artists and architecture students, short films and small video experiments are created. These will be screened at various locations in Neuperlach with the mobile bicycle cinema. For the district week from 29 June to 5 July, the Ciné Vélo Cité will present films with the question: "How will Neuperlach develop by 2030?"
Young people and creative people developed ideas and models for the construction of the mobile bicycle cinema in Neuperlach in the winter of 2022.
In addition to comfortable seating and snacks, the essential components are a screen, speakers, a projector and, above all, electricity. In the case of Ciné Vélo Cité, this is produced by a mobile solar system or by bicycle dynamos powered by muscle power.
Ciné Vélo Cité is a project of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Department of Architecture, with the filmmaker and artist Patrik Thomas and the professor of urban planning and theory of the city, Andrea Benze.
Admission is free.
Ciné Vélo Cité will celebrate its premiere as part of the Perlach district week on 30 June 2023.
Further dates:
1 July 2023, 9 pm, Theatron/Ostpark
6 July 2023, 6 pm, meeting point at ZAK/Wohnring, joint walk to the performance venue
The realisation of the Ciné Vélo Cité is funded by the Cultural Department and the Neuperlach Disposition Fund as part of Städtebauförderungsprogramm "Growth and Sustainable Renewal" with funds from the Federal Government and the Free State of Bavaria, and co-financed by the City of Munich.
