Innovationswettbewerb NEBourhoods

With the innovation competition, the City of Munich calls for the submission of innovative solution proposals for specific urban challenges every year. The aim is to further develop the new smart city approaches in a co-creative phase and to test them in a real, municipal setting. The competition is aimed at interested parties from the start-up community, students, innovation-driven founders and all creative talents who want to develop and implement viable, innovative solutions for the specified challenges.

This year's challenges are:
• The cool side of Munich - Routing for footpaths in the shade
• Digital Welcome Centre - AI-supported information portal for new and future Munich residents
• Job and recruiting compass for international newcomers
• Improving the data situation on stationary traffic
• Choose Green - communicating energy-efficient mobility routines for Munich

As part of the 2024 competition, ideas were also specifically sought for Neuperlach, which will be implemented in co-creative projects for three to six months after the summer break.

The application phase has now been completed. On 5 June 2024, the pre-selection of the finalists took place with the professional participants and the cooperating entrepreneurship centres.

The patron of the innovation competition, Mayor Dominik Krause, will welcome the winners to the award ceremony. Short pitches by the finalists will provide the audience with a brief insight into the solutions proposed for the advertised challenges.

The subsequent drinks reception will provide ample opportunity to network and exchange ideas with the finalists, the city administration, the cooperating entrepreneurship centres and other players from the start-up and innovation ecosystem.

There is a contingent of tickets for the internal award ceremony for Neuperlacher:innen. Registration via Frieke Meijer-Schepman:
